The benefits administrator position is responsible for directing and planning the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, worker’s compensation, life insurance, travel and accident plan, flexible spending plan, retirement plans, etc.).
When it comes to benefits administration, the four major types of employee benefits? Medical insurance, life insurance, retirement plans (401k) and disability insurance. PTO (Paid Time Off) is another major one.

One of the features of a qualified profit-sharing plan, a 401(k) allows employees to contribute a portion of their wages to individual accounts. Aside for Roth deferrals, effective salary deferrals are excluded from the employee’s taxable income. Employers also have the ability to contribute to employees’ accounts.
